8 Tips to Bring Out the Best in You from a Seasoned Entrepreneur

How to bring out the best in you?

Entrepreneurship is a profession in which one has to give more than 100% efforts to find success. And successful entrepreneurs work day in day out and always push their limits to achieve something which may seem impossible for common people. Thus they know the answer to a question faced by many people: how to bring out the best in you?

And, as an entrepreneur, I would like to share eight tips to bring out the best in you:

1. Make a list of your goals

Start your day by making a list of things you want to accomplish. I usually split the list in two: One for the tasks that need immediate attention, and another for long-term projects that I need to work on. It helps me in staying focused and get things done.

2. Have these two powers to achieve success

a. The power of conviction. If you believe in something; you should pursue it with all your might. I have often seen that great ideas are not executed because of a lack of conviction.

b. The power of listening. A common problem with many people (and even companies) is that they hear, but they do not listen. Good leaders always listen first; whether the person who is speaking is your customer, employee, or even your peer.

3. Don’t let failures disheartened you

Failures are part of every professional’s journey. In fact, I feel you can not achieve great success if you have never failed. What is most important here is how you deal with that failure: do you let it discourage and dishearten you, or do you use it as a learning experience to get better!

4. Surround yourself with positivity

Surround yourself with positive people because the people with whom you spent most of your time will shape you as a person. Positive people who are solution-oriented, ambitious and goal-driven push you to become the best version of yourself. Also, it’s necessary to share each other failures. You will learn a lot from these group discussions than finding solutions on your own.

5. Ignore Critics

Don’t bother too much about them. No matter what you do, there is always someone to criticise you. And remember, you are not here to please everyone. So, make sure to keep moving forward, and you will soon leave the cynics and critics behind.

6. Get rid of the fear of obstacles

The fear of obstacles is often a bigger problem than the obstacles themselves, and we make a bigger deal of problems than they usually are. As, Mark Twain has rightly said, “I have had a lot of worries in my life, most of which never happened.” So, the only way, I believe, to handle obstacles is to be solutions-oriented.

7. Overcome these two productivity killers

Indecision. The speed of decision making is the key to more productivity. Indecision and second-guessing yourself are big productivity killers and usually results in the worst possible outcome. Don’t have a vacillating, but a calm mind and you will get better in making decisions in life.

8. Question your work not the result

I have borrowed, this advice but I feel it will change the way you think. In everything you do, always own your outcome and not the output. Outcome (the desired larger goal) is what your output (the tasks you perform) is meant to achieve. We often go about life doing things that we are meant to be doing, ticking boxes and performing tasks without ever questioning them. The above-mentioned success mantra, helps you question your actions and recalibrate your thinking to the bigger picture. At Tilfi, we swear by this mantra, especially with it comes to customer service. Every time we respond to customer queries, our objective is not limited to simply answering the questions, but to actually win customer confidence, trust and loyalty (our desired outcome!).
