This unit specializes in counterterrorism and urban warfare. It is nicknamed Predators. Took part in operation Khukri.

They are called Russell's Viper. Specialized in counter-insurgency operations; the unit took an active part in World War II.
4 PARA SF
Based in Kashmir, they take an active part in counter-insurgency operations. Specialized in mountain warfare, they are called Daggers.
9 PARA SF
Raised in 1966 under Major Megh Singh. It specializes in mountain and high altitude terrain warfare. Also, popularly known as Ghost Operators and Pirates.
10 PARA SF
They are highly skilled special forces personnel who master desert warfare. They are called Desert Scorpians. Also, they actively conduct operations in J&K.
11 PARA SF
Responsible for specialized operations in the North-East part of India, they are specialized in jungle warfare. One of the youngest units, which was raised in 2011.
12 PARA SF
Based in North East India, they are called Dirty Dozen. It is also a young unit like 11 PARA SF. Specialized in jungle warfare and counter-insurgency.
21 PARA SF
Known as Waghnaks, they are elite operators of the jungle and urban warfare. It is the unit that carried out a surgical strike in border areas of Myanmar.
